BB&O

About

The Junior Elite Squad is open to any age player between 15 and 17 (on Jan 1st of that playing year) who can demonstrate an exceptional ability in the game of golf.

Handicap is a guide to this and in general players will have a handicap of 3 or better by the age of 16 and those players who are in the final year as a Junior would probably have a handicap of 1 or better. This may sound tough but it’s not unusual for the Squad to contain several players off plus figures before the end of the Junior season.

Almost all the players in this Squad are expecting to make their career in the golf industry – whether as a touring professional, a coach or with a manufacturer. We actively encourage all our players to stay on a school and obtain the best qualifications they can which will give them the best options going forward. We also work closely with the England coaches in the AASE programme for those choosing that route.

The Elite Squad meet regularly for coaching days and also have full weekend programmes at venues around the Country during the spring. During the Summer we select the form players for inter County and other events which brings them up against some of the Country’s best players.

BB&O provides financial and other active support for some players who enter National tournaments such as the Carris Trophy and the British Boys Championship and County coaches are available for one-to-one sessions at key times in the season.

Use this section to contact the Junior Elite Manager. You will need a handicap in very low single figures to be considered for County selection and coaching for these teams. Don't be discouraged though, and if you think you are good enough we would like to hear from you.
