Due to technical difficulties - someone nicked my laptop! and 2 weeks holidays we are not as up to date as we would like to be. By 22nd November the latest County Jottings will be on the site plus a provisonal fixture list for 2003. If you have a 2.4 handicap and below I must receive your handicap record sheet duly signed by 10th December latest. The EGU have brought forward their end of year to 31st October to ensure returns are received before the start of the next season.
14 Years & Under Championship
Craig Taylor (Woburn) caps a memorable year for the Taylor Family by taking the Title at Bicester Golf and Country Club on 22nd October. His one shot win from Anthony Sage (Gerrards Cross) ensured a clean sweep of the all the BB&O Junior Championships for he and his brother Daniel. We look forward to them both challenging for futher honours next year.
County SE Group Final
Having shared the Daily Telegraph Salver last year against the same opposition, we disappointingly lost out by 7-5 after leading at luchtime 3-1
Hillman Trophy Plate
Temple played East Berkshire on 19th October in the 8th Final of the 'Plate'. An excellent match saw the result depending on the last game which went in Temple's favour for the narrowest of wins
Hillman Trophy
Calcot Park took the honours from Bird Hills at Reading Golf Club on 19th October. Many spectators from both Clubs came to support their Club in this very popular event
Southern Counties Senior Foursomes
Playing Middlesex in the morning match at Cotswold Hills, the Seniors continued their winning ways for the right to play Norfolk in the Final.
Seniors SE Group Final
Having won the North of the Thames League the Seniors played Hampshire for the Daily Telegraph Trophy at Sonning on 3rd October. Despite losing the first three games the team rallied and took the Trophy 6-4
Order of Merit Trophy
David Addison wins the Autumn Trophy and takes the OOM by 5¾ points from Ashley Walton with County Captain Matt Briggs in third place.
Autumn Trophy
David Addison (Parasampia) wins the Autumn Trophy by 2 shots from Stephen Richards (Chartridge Park) at Chipping Norton. David wins by 2 shots from Steve after scoring two rounds of 68 for a six under par total. He also seals victory in the BB&O Order of Merit Trophy. Darren Gatward (Calcot Park) breaks the course record in the afternoon with a 6 under par 65

County v Goring & Streatley
Despite taking the morning foursomes 3-1 the County Team lose the match against the Club after a remarkable performance by the home side in the afternoon singles.
Juniors v Warwickshire
After losing to Surrey, the Boys bounced back and played very well at The Welcombe Hotel Golf Club and managed a good win against Warwickshire.
Juniors v Surrey
The Juniors lost to Surrey at Wokefield Park on Tuesday. Most of the games were quite close and this under 16 side hope to finish their season with a win over Warwickshire on Thursday.
County v Essex
Needing just one point to secure the English Golf Union/SE Group North of the Thames League Title, the County Team inflict a heavy defeat on Essex at Orsett with brilliant scoring from most of the players. In a rematch of last year's final we take on Hampshire at South Beds on 20th October for the Daily Telegraph Salver.
Juniors v Norfolk
The Boys had an excellent three days on a tour of Norfolk which saw them beat the home side at Hunstanton and Mark Hall (Oxford City) going on to win the Junior Open at Sheringham with Haydn Brooks (Woburn) in second place.
Colts v Hertfordshire
After a disappointing result in the foursomes, the Colts produce a great performance in the afternoon singles to win the match 9½-2½ and to win the League for the third successive year.
EGU SE Senior Foursomes
The Seniors continue their undefeated run with wins over both Hampshire and Surrey to take the EGU South East title for the 6th time. They now go on to play the winners of the other Southern Groups in the finals at Cotswold Hills in October.
Boddington Trophy
Defending Champion, Craig Buttivant scored a three under par second round at Oxford City to retain the Trophy and beat local favourite Clive Bowler into second place. John Fletcher of West Berkshire won the Handicap prize on countback from Oxford City's Larry Holder.
Colts Championship
Steve Lewton (Woburn) takes the Colts Championship by just one shot from David Addison (West Berkshire) at Stoke Park Club. Woburn's Haydn Brooks takes the Handicap Trophy on countback from Caversham Heath player Glyn Merdith.
Juniors v Oxfordshire Captains
The Boys enjoyed another win over the Oxfordshire Capatins at North Oxford GC on 7th August. Having warmed up by playing a medal in the morning the Boys just managed to squeeze home by 1 point.
County v Middlesex
Another convincing win keep the County Team at the top of the League. Playing at Magnolia Park on 4th August, Middlesex were never in contention as we took the morning foursomes with just the loss of half a point. Brilliant golf enabled the side to dominate the singles and take the match by 9½ - 2½.
Douglas Johns Trophy
Daniel Taylor from Woburn takes the Trophy with brilliant rounds of 68 & 65 equalling the course record in the afternoon. Grant Slater (Carlyon Bay) and Ollie Turnill (Bognor Regis) also finish under par but can't match Daniel's record winning score.
Colts v Bedfordshire
Played at Bedford & County GC on Saturday 27th July, the Colts recorded the biggest win of the season with an 11½-½ victory. We now top the League and need just a draw against Herfordshire on 17th August to win the title for the third year in a row.
Champion Club Finals
Frilford Heath team of County Champion - Ashley Waton, Father and Son - Bob and Barry Mann take the title at Tadmarton Heath by just two shots from Ellesborough and three from Sonning.
BB&O v Hertfordshire
An excellent win at Old Fold Manor, after being down in the morning foursomes, took the County Side to the top of the League table.

County Qualifying
The 6 man team put up a valiant defence of our title at Rye on Saturday 6th July. With all 12 scores counting we were joint 4th at lunchtime and eventually finished third on 845 just 7 shots behind the winners Hampshire and 4 behind the runners up Kent .
Seniors v Middlesex
The Seniors take the English Golf Union/SE Group North of The Thames League Title with yet another good win against Middlesex at Highgate.
Colts v Middlesex
The Colts side have secured their second League win over Middlesex at Finchley on 29th June. They top the League and next play Bedfordshire on 27th July
County v Windmill Hill
The County side managed by Mark Greenwood played the Club side at Windmill Hill on Sunday 23rd June. A win by 8½ to 3½ by the County evened up the 'series' after 4 years.
BB&O v Bedfordshire
The County side opened the defence of the EGU South East Group League Title, with an excellent win over Bedfordshire at Frilford Heath over the Blue Course. Everyone made a contribution to the points and we only lost two out of 12 games on the day.
Seniors Championship
Lane takes Seniors Title for record 5th time - The Seniors Championship was played at Henley Golf Club on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st May.
Penfold Trophy
Adam Hinkins of Chiltern Forest wins the Penfold Trophy at Denham. Just 15 years old Adam will be the youngest competitor at the BB & O Amateur at Beaconsfield.
Club Foursomes
The BB & O Club Scratch and Handicap Foursomes Championships were held at Winter Hill Golf Club on Friday 3rd May. The Scratch Championship was contested by 29 teams ....
Junior Championship
Taylor's Clean Sweep - Daniel Taylor of Woburn wins the Junior Championship at Castle Royle and wins the Under 16's Trophy and Handicap Trophy for good measure.
BB&O Annual Council Meeting
The annual council meeting of the County Union took place on 13th March at Maidenhead Golf Club. The Council comprises the Secretary or Manager of each of the 121 affiliated clubs, together with provision for each club to nominate a second representative who may attend.
BB&O Annual Dinner
The 40th Annual Dinner was held at the Blue Mountain Golf Centre on Monday 4th March. Some 350 guests were present to hear some excellent speakers, namely the President of the English Golf Union, Bill Bryce, proposing a toast to the 'BB&O; with ….
