This event is being held at East Berkshire Golf Club on 13th and 14th June. The Club celebrates its Centenary this year and a very strong field will contest the Championship. Look out for good performances from Kevin Freeman, Geoff Harris and local favourites Steve Barwick and Lee Gauthier. Tom Lawson, David Addison and Mark Housego must also be in with a good chance and I expect three recent winners - Ashley Walton, Clive Bowler and Luke Rusher, to feature in the final analysis. If you haven''t been mentioned - call me if you want a bet!! The Draw will be published by the middle of next week. Good Luck to you all

The Penfold Trophy was played at Maidenhead Golf Club on Saturday 17th May. Atrocious weather meant that play had to be abandoned in the afternoon and the Trophy decided on one round. This was a great shame as the amount of work that the staff at the Club had put in to making the event a success was not fully rewarded. Nonetheless Shane Jackson (Richings Park) was a deserved winner of the Penfold Trophy.

The third Friendly Match against a nearly full strength Wiltshire saw our team, drawn from our Junior Squad Colts and 'experienced' County A team players, nearly causing a major upset, before losing out 6½-8½. There were great wins in the singles from all three Juniors with a special mention to late substitute Michael Eltham (Goring & Streatley) who won't be off 8 handicap for too long given his 5/4 victory over a Full County Wiltshire player.
