The first League Match of the year saw us take on Hertfordshire at Woburn on The Duchess Course. We were after revenge after a narrow loss to our close neighbours last August. Once again we were not able to call on all our first choice players but we do have a really good squad and it was easy to fill the gaps. The morning foursomes were shared with only one game being reasonably close. The afternoon singles a bit easier and we won the first 4 games comfortably to establish a half at worst. John Gough playing in his first 1st Team match turned his game around from an early deficit to win 3/2 and clinch the match win and earn maximum points on the day. A half and a loss further down the field resulted in a 7½-4½ win.
