U12s & Hub Centres

Our mission is to develop a network of Hub Centres that prepare young golfers in all disciplines to be able to compete at the very highest standard of amateur golf. The Hub Centres are the first stage of the BB&O Performance pyramid and we are look to attract golfers U12 on 1st January who have a passion to improve their golf to apply to become a Scholar.

In addtion to Hub Centres we offer competitive playing opportunites for U12 (as young as 8) in either the Development Tour for boys who have a handicap index of 24.5 or higher. For boys who have handicaps of 24.4 or under we have The Futures Tour. More details on both Tours can be found clicking here.

What is a Hub Centre?

A Hub Centre is an affiliated golf club that has been approved by BB&O Golf because of its excellent facilities, location and environment that enables junior golf to flourish. A Hub Centre has at least one PGA Coach attached to it who can provide expert tuition and has a previous track record of producing talent particularly in the U12 age group.

How to Apply

To become a scholar, you must fit the criteria detailed below.

  • Aged between 8 – 11 (U12 on 1st January)
  • Must be able to demonstrate competent golfing ability
  • An official WHS handicap is not essential
  • Must be a home member of a BB&O affiliated golf club

You will receive Hub Centre coaching for FREE, will have the opportunity to play Hub Centre matches, and may be selected to represent BB&O in a friendly Under 12 match against another county. All we ask is that you play in BB&O Development or Futures Tour events when possible.

We have geographically placed Hub centres across the three counties so there should be a hub within locality to you. Please see below for the list of Hub Centres:
